Ghana: Marcia Larson Peiffer, member of the National Salvation Army Advisory Board, spearheaded our MGF project teaching in Accra. Here, we partnered with Salvation Army schools and churches in the area.
MGF helped pack equipment for the missionary’s relocation and came alongside sending organization City of Joy in their afternoon community service projects.
In Khayelitsha township near Cape Town, our team held afternoon Bible School sessions for children 10 and under. We sang old favorites like “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands”, made crafts, taught Bible stories, and played soccer with attendees.
In Tanzania, we led Bible studies at the United Nations Tribunal on the Rwandan genocide, led church young meetings, lectured at Tumaini Law School and preached at the Arusha International Baptist Church. We donated sun powered tape recorders of the New Testament to Maasai villagers - one witchdoctor's wives (yes, that's plural) are coming to know Jesus through these oral versions of Scripture.
Barbara and Doug Petersen, Teen Missions International missionaries, led our Micah Global project in Gwanda. We led worship at ‘Chicken Head Church' [an afternoon children's VBS program] where children receive a chicken head for each Bible verse they memorize. During the day, we finished cement floors with kerosene and painted a newly completed missionary home.
